Advanced Sort/Group Option

The Sort Option in the Group tab is used for sorting groups.  When you only have groups which contain fields that have been used in summary functions, this Sort Option can be chosen.

If you select the Sort Option, the Advanced Sort Option dialog will pop up.




You can sort the groups by selecting the summary field in the Advanced Sort menu.  Just highlight and click on the arrow button to place the field in the next menu. 

You can also cut down the size of the sorted groups by placing a number in the TopN option.  If you click on the TopN box and place a number "15" in menu box, JReport will only display the first 15 records in each group.  The records excluded can be placed into one single group, which we call Other.  You can specify a name for this Other group.
