Container Policies
Lists the available policies.

Enabled
This column indicates if the policy is enabled or disabled. To enable or disable the policy, select or deselect the check box.

Policy
This column displays the name of the policy. For ZENworks® Desktop Management and Server Management, the Container Package includes only the Search policy. In Handheld Management, the Container Package includes the Search policy and the Handheld Management Application Search policy.

The Search policies set the searching process that ZENworks Desktop Management and Handheld Management follows in enforcing associated policies. Because most policies in Server Management are distributed rather than associated for enforcement, the Search policy is used in Server Management to enable the Distributor Agent to locate the Service Location Package for the ZENworks Database policy to write reporting information to the database file.

The Search policy contains the policy refresh frequency, search level, and search order attributes.

If you don't set a Search policy, the default is to search from a parent container to the root every hour. This can create unnecessary network traffic, and can especially impact traffic across slow network links. Therefore, we recommend that you make effective use of the Search policy.

You can have more than one Search policy in the tree, although just one per container object. The purpose for having multiple Search policies in a tree is to minimize tree-walking. For example, you can have one "default" Search policy high up in the tree, then create other Search policies in various container objects, such as server containers or policy package containers. The first Search policy found by ZENworks Desktop Management or Server Management is used.

Schedule
This column indicates the schedule status of the policy. N/A means the policy cannot be scheduled.
