Service Location Package
A Service Location Package includes polices that relate to services. A Service
Location Package contains the following policies:
- SMTP Host (Server Management and Desktop Management): Sets the
TCP/IP address of the relay host that processes outbound Internet e-mail.
This policy must be enabled if you select the E-mail option for notifying
or logging messages in any of the other policies.
- SNMP Trap Targets (Server Management and Desktop Management): Sets SNMP trap targets for associated Novell®
eDirectoryTM objects. You can also schedule when SNMP trap targets are to be refreshed.
- Tiered Electronic Distribution (Server Management): Provides
defaults for Tiered Electronic Distribution objects.
- zenlocXMLTarget (Desktop Management): Specifies the location where
XML data is sent.
- ZENworks Database (Server Management and Desktop Management): Sets
the DN for locating a database object. This policy must be in effect for Desktop
Management or the Server Management Distributor Agent to locate a database
file for logging successes and failures that are used in creating reports.
If a database object is not identified with this location policy, Desktop
Management or the Server Management Distributor Agent does not use the corresponding
database file to log reporting information. Therefore, you should create this
policy for each database object in the tree. For the Distributor Agent, this
policy can point to the same database object as the similar policy contained
in the Distributed Server Package, which the Policy/Package Agent uses for
logging information.
In Server Management, policies are Distributed and Distributors do not receive Distributions. Therefore, only the Distributor uses the policies in the Service Location Package.
