User Package
For Desktop Management only, a User Package includes policies that relate to
users. A User Package contains the following policies:
- 95 User System Polices: Not used in ZENworks for Desktops 3 or above. User system policies are now defined through the User extensible policies. User system policies created in ZENworks for Desktops versions prior to version 3 will still work; however, you can't create new ones or edit existing ones.
- Dynamic Local User: Configures users created on Windows NT/2000/XP workstations after they have authenticated to eDirectory.
- NT User System Policies: Not used in ZENworks for Desktops 3 or above. User system policies are now defined through the User extensible policies. User system policies created in ZENworks for Desktops versions prior to version 3 will still work; however, you can't create new ones or edit existing ones.
- Novell iPrinter Policy: Use to install the Novell iPrint client to users' workstations. After it is installed, users can access iPrint printers via a Web browser just like any other printer, regardless of the printer's physical location.
- Remote Control Policy: Sets parameters for managing remote user functions, such as whether to prompt users for permission to remotely control their workstations.
- Scheduled Action: Sets up schedules for specific actions. This is a plural policy, meaning it can be added many times to the policy package. This policy must be added using the Add button.
- User Extensible Policies: Allows you to control any application function that is configured in the Windows registry. Extensible policies are user-defined.
- Windows Desktop Preferences: Sets defaults for users' desktops.
- Windows Group Policy: Acts as an extension of extensible policies for Windows 2000/XP and Active Directory*.
- Windows Terminal Server Policy: Sets parameters for Citrix* and Microsoft* Terminal Server users.
