Workstation Package
For Desktop Management only, a Workstation Package includes policies that relate to workstations. A Workstation Package contains the following policies:
- 95 Computer System Policies: Not used in ZENworks for Desktops 3 or above. Computer system policies are now defined through the Computer extensible policies. Computer system policies created in ZENworks for Desktops versions prior to version 3 will still work; however, you can't create new ones or edit existing ones.
- Computer Extensible Policies: Sets user-defined policies (from .ADM files) for workstation objects.
- Novell iPrinter Policy: Use to install the Novell iPrint client to users' workstations. After it is installed, users can access iPrint printers via a Web browser just like any other printer, regardless of the printer's physical location.
- NT Computer System Policies: Not used in ZENworks for Desktops 3 or above. Computer system policies are now defined through the Computer extensible policies. Computer system policies created in ZENworks for Desktops versions prior to version 3 will still work; however, you can't create new ones or edit existing ones.
- Remote Control: Sets parameters for managing remote user functions, such as whether to prompt users for permission to remotely control their workstations.
- Scheduled Action: Sets up schedules for specific actions. This is a plural policy, meaning it can be added many times to the policy package. This policy must be added using the Add button.
- Windows Group: Acts as an extension of extensible policies for Windows 2000/XP and Active Directory.
- Workstation Imaging: Sets the parameters for imaging workstations. Because the Imaging policy is applied before the operating system starts, you must configure this policy using the General page. Do not use the WinNT-2000 or Win95-98 pages.
- Workstation Inventory: Sets what hardware and software inventory data you want to view for each workstation. It also identifies an Inventory server for each workstation in the network.
- ZENworks for Desktops Agent:
The ZENworks for Desktops policy lets you use Desktop Management without using
the Novell ClientTM.
