Create and Manage Quick Reports

Quick Reports allow you to easily retrieve and view the data from the Novell^® ZENworks^® Inventory database.

Each Quick Report contains a list of inventory components and a query that you define using the Quick Report wizard.

Using the Quick Report wizard, you can perform the following tasks:

• Create a new Quick Report.

• View the data retrieved by the Quick Report.

• Modify an existing Quick Report.

• Delete a Quick Report.

• Configure the ZENworks Inventory database
  

Create a New Quick Report

1. Click New.

2. Define a query, then click Next.

3. In the Database Fields page, do the following:

   1. Select the inventory components whose data you want to view using Quick Report.
   2. To view the report, click View.
   3. To save the report, click Save.
      NOTE: Only if you save a Quick Report, the report is listed on the Create and Manage Quick Reports page.
   4. Click Close.

Viewing the Data Retrieved by the Quick Report

1. From the list of Quick Reports, select a report whose data you want to view.
   

   By default, the list displays all the Quick Reports saved in the ConsoleOne_installation_directory\consoleone\1.2\reporting\export directory. To view a Quick Report residing in another directory, click the Browse icon to browse and select the directory.

   You can view only one Quick Report at a time.

   NOTE: Only the saved Quick Reports are listed on the Create and Manage Quick Reports page.

2. Click View.

The data is displayed in the Query Results dialog box.

Modifying an Existing Quick Report

1. From the list of Quick Reports, select the Quick Report that you want to modify.
   You can modify only one Quick Report at a time.
   NOTE: Only the saved Quick Reports are listed on the Create and Manage Quick Reports page.

2. Click Edit.

3. Change the settings of the query in the Define Query page, then click Next.

4. Change the settings in the Database Fields page.

   1. Select the inventory components whose data you want to view using Quick Report.
   2. To view the report, click View.
   3. To save the report, click Save.
      
   4. Click Close.

Deleting a Quick Report

1. From the list of Quick Reports, select the Quick Report that you want to delete.
   

   By default, the list displays all the Quick Reports saved in the ConsoleOne_installation_directory\consoleone\1.2\reporting\export directory. To delete a Quick Report residing in another directory, click the Browse icon to browse and select the directory.

   NOTE: Only the saved Quick Reports are listed on the Create and Manage Quick Reports page.

2. Click Delete.
