Use this property page to enable or disable the policies to be applied to any server with which you associate the Server Package. After you enable a policy, you can modify it to meet the needs of the servers to which you are applying it.
These policies are applied regardless of the server's platform (NetWare®, Windows*, Linux*, or Solaris*). To manage policies that apply to a specific server platform, use the applicable platform page.
Server Policies
Lists the available policies.
Enabled
This column indicates if the policy is enabled or disabled. To enable or disable the policy, select or deselect the check box.Policy
This column displays the name of the policy. If you have ZENworks® Desktop Management installed, the following policies are available:
- Dictionary Update Policy: Specifies where the source for the software dictionary list is located.
- Imaging Server Policy: Determines rules for imaging workstations.
- Inventory RollUp Policy: Determines how scan information is rolled up to the server at the next level.
- Workstation Import: Enables automatic creation of Workstation objects as users log into the network.
- Workstation Removal: Enables automatic removal of unused Workstation objects.
- ZENworks Database: Sets the DN for locating a ZENworks Database object. If a database object is not identified with this location policy, Desktop Management does not use the corresponding database file to log reporting information. Therefore, you should create this policy for each database object in the tree.
The ZENworks Database policy is available in both the Server package and in the Service Location package. The ZENworks Database policy in the Server package lets you configure only the Inventory database. The ZENworks Database policy in the Service Location package lets you configure both the Inventory and the Application Management databases.
