Solaris

Use this property page to enable or disable the policies that will be applied to any Solaris* server where you associate the server package. After you've enabled a policy, you can modify it to meet the needs of the servers where you are applying it.

To manage policies that will apply to all servers regardless of platform, use the General page.

Server Policies
Lists the available policies.

Enabled
This column indicates if the policy is enabled or disabled. To enable or disable the policy, select or deselect the check box.

Policy
This column displays the name of the policy.

If you have ZENworks^® Server Management Midas installed, the following policies are available:

• Server Down Process: Controls the processes to follow when downing a server.
• ZENworks for Servers: Configures basic parameters for Server Management, such as status logging, defining the server console prompt for zfs.ncf, setting its working path, and setting a database purging limit. This policy can be enabled on each server where you want to enforce Server policies. If you do not enable the policy, Server Management will work from preprogrammed defaults. However, we recommend that you enable this policy because you can specify how information is purged from the database. The database file grows with every Server Management success or failure logged. This control will prevent the database file from becoming excessively large.

If you have Desktop Management installed, the following policies are available:

• Imaging Server: Determines rules for imaging workstations.
• Workstation Import: Enables automatic creation of Workstation objects as users log into the network.
• Workstation Removal: Enables automatic removal of unused Workstation objects.
• zeninvRollUp: Determines how scan information is rolled up to the next higher level server.

Schedule
This column indicates the schedule status of the policy. N/A means the policy cannot be scheduled. Default Schedule means the policy is using the default schedule established for the package (see Default Package Schedule below).

Properties
Displays the properties of the selected and enabled policy.

Reset
Resets the selected policy to its default values.

Add
This option appears only if you have Server Management installed. Click Add to add any of the following Server Management plural policies. Plural polices are policies that can be added more than once to a policy package. For example, you can have one or more Server Scripts policies.

• Scheduled Down: Schedules when a server should go down, and whether it should automatically be brought back up. The policy includes which command (RESET, RESTART, or DOWN) to use when bringing down the server.
• Server Scripts: Automates script usage on your servers.
• Text File Changes: Automates changes to text files.

Default Package Schedule
This option appears only if you have Server Management installed. This field displays the default schedule that will be used by all of the package's policies that require a schedule and for which you have not established individual schedules. If a policy is using the default schedule, "Default Schedule" is displayed in the Schedule column of the Linux Server Policies list.

Edit
Allows you to edit the package schedule.
