Email Notification

Use this property page to enable or disable email notification for the cluster and to specify up to eight administrator email addresses for cluster notification.

Novell Cluster Services can automatically send out email messages for certain cluster events like cluster and resource state changes or nodes joining or leaving the cluster.

Check or uncheck the Enable Cluster Notification Events check box to enable or disable email notification. If you enable email notification, add the desired email address in the field provided and click the button next to the field to add the email address to the list. Repeat this process for each email address you want on the notification list.

If you enable email notification, you also need to specify the type of cluster events you want administrators to receive messages for. Click the Receive Only Critical Events radio button to only receive notification of critical events like a node failure or a resource going comatose. Click the Verbose Messages radio button to receive notification of all cluster state changes including critical events and also resource state changes and nodes joining and leaving the cluster. Check the XML Messages checkbox to receive notification of the type of cluster state changes you selected in XML format. XML format messages can be intrepreted and formatted with a parser that lets you customize the message information for your specific needs.

Click the Apply button to save changes made to email notification.
