Environment Options: Appearance

The Appearance options determine the appearance of the GroupWise® Windows* client.

Choose a Scheme
There are three available schemes: Default, GroupWise 6.5, and Simplified. If you select the Default look, the GroupWise client displays the Main Menu, Toolbar, full Folder list, the Nav Bar, and the Sky Blue color scheme. If you select GroupWise 6.5, the GroupWise client displays the Main Menu, Toolbar, and the full Folder list. If you select simplified, the GroupWise client displays the Sky Blue color scheme, the Nav bar, simple Folder list.

Choose Individual Settings

Display Main Menu
The Main Menu is displayed at the top of the window in the GroupWise client.

Display Nav Bar
The Navigation bar is displayed at the top of the window in the GroupWise client.

Display Main Toolbar
The Main Toolbar is displayed underneath the Navigation bar in the GroupWise client.

GroupWise Color Schemes
Overrides any operating system color schemes for the GroupWise client. You can select Blue, Olive Green, Silver, Sky Blue, Spring Green, or Sterling Silver.

Display Folder List
Displays the Folder list on the left side of the window in the GroupWise client. You can select from the Favorites Folder List, the Simple Folder List, or the Full Folder List. If you are using the GroupWise 6.5 Look, you can also select to view the Long Folder List.

Display QuickViewer
Displays the QuickViewer in the GroupWise client. The QuickViewer allows you to read a message without opening the message. When you read a message in the QuickViewer it is marked as read. You can select to display the QuickViewer on the right side or at the bottom.

Lock Buttons
If you click a lock button on any option, users cannot change the default setting for that option. The lock is effective for the object where you set it: domain, post office, or user. A lock at a higher level overrides a different setting at a lower level.

When settings are locked at the domain or post office level, the information is distributed to the levels below it. If a setting is locked at the domain object, the setting in the post office and user objects shows a padlock with a globe next to it, representing a domain. If it is locked at the post office object, the setting at the user object shows a padlock with a postal box next to it, representing a post office.

If a setting cannot be locked at the user level because the option is not available in the GroupWise client, the setting in the user object does not contain a lock button. However, a lock icon shows if the setting was locked at the post office or domain.
