Use this property page to configure the GroupWise Address Book for the domain. By default, the Address Book is configured to display the following fields in the GroupWise Windows client:
You can remove optional fields and make additional fields available. You can also select whether the addresses are sorted by first name/last name or last name/first name.
The Address Book configuration you establish becomes the default configuration for new GroupWise users in the domain. Changes to Address Book configuration do not affect existing users.
In the GroupWise client, users can change which fields are displayed, change the field order, and change the address sort order, so that their Address Books display differently from your default configuration. However, users cannot display fields that you have not added on the Address Book page.
Sort Address Book By
Select the sort order for addresses. You can sort by first name/last name or
last name/first name.
Address Book Fields
This list shows the fields that are available for display in the Address Book
in the GroupWise client.
To add a field to the Address Book, select the field in the Available Fields list, then click the left-arrow to move the field to the Address Book Fields list. The field is added as the last field in the list. If the field that you want displayed in the Address Book is not included in the Available Fields list, you can add it to the list as an administrator-defined field (indicated by an *). For information, see Map Additional Fields below.
To remove a field from the Address Book, select the field in the Address Book Fields list, then click the right-arrow to move the field to the Available Fields list.
Up-Arrow, Down-Arrow
To change the order of the fields, select the field you want to move, then click the up-arrow or down-arrow to change its position in the list.Edit Label
You can edit the field label for any administrator-defined fields included in the Address Book Fields list. Administrator-defined fields are marked with an asterisk (*). Select the field (in the Address Book Fields list), then click the Edit Label button to rename the field. For information about creating administrator-defined fields, see Map Additional Fields below.
Available Fields
These fields are not available for selection by users in the Address Book in
the GroupWise client. You can move fields between the Address Book Fields and
Available Fields lists by selecting the fields and clicking the left or right
arrow.
Map Additional Fields
Novell eDirectory includes user properties that are not associated to GroupWise user fields. For example, a User object includes Postal Address properties (City, State, and Zip Code) that are not included as GroupWise fields. However, you can use administrator-defined fields to map eDirectory user properties to GroupWise fields so that they can be displayed in the GroupWise Address Book.To map an eDirectory user property to a GroupWise user field, click Map Additional Fields to display the Admin-Defined Fields dialog box, assign the user property to an administrator-defined field, then click OK to add it to the Available Fields list. You can add the field to the Address Book by moving it from the Available Fields list to the Address Book Fields list. After the administrator-defined field is in the Address Book Fields list, you can select it and click the Edit Label button to change the field label if desired.
Do Not Display User Comments
The Address Book includes a user comments field that displays the information
stored in the User object Description field (User object > General tab >
Identification page). If you do not want user comments displayed in the Address
Book, select this option.
To view a user's comments in the Address Book, select the user's address, then click the View menu > Details > Comments.
