Use this property page to override the Internet Addressing settings established at the GroupWise® system level (Tools menu > GroupWise System Operations > Internet Addressing). The Internet Addressing settings you establish for this domain apply to all users in the domain, unless you override the settings at the post office level (Post Office object > GroupWise tab > Internet Addressing page) or the user level (User object > GroupWise tab > Internet Addressing page).
Preferred Address Format
The preferred address format determines how e-mail addresses are displayed in
the GroupWise Address Book and in the To field of sent messages.
By default, the domain inherits its preferred address format from the system-level setting. To override the inherited setting for this domain, select Override, then select the preferred address format.
Allowed Address Formats
The allowed address formats determine which address formats GroupWise supports
for incoming messages and for POP3/IMAP4 logins. GroupWise delivers a message
only if the recipient's address conforms to one of the allowed address formats.
Because the allowed address formats apply to POP3/IMAP4 logins, do not deselect UserID@Internet_domain_name if you have POP3/IMAP4 users. This would prevent them from logging in with their GroupWise user IDs, and using a different format would be inconvenient for them.
By default, the domain inherits its allowed address formats from the system-level setting. To override the inherited setting for this domain, select Override, then select the allowed address formats.
Internet Domain Name
The Internet domain name, along with the preferred address format, is used to
construct the e-mail addresses included in the GroupWise Address Book and the
To field of sent messages.
By default, the domain inherits its preferred Internet domain name from the system-level setting. To override the inherited setting for this domain, select Override, then select the appropriate Internet domain name.
For Incoming Mail, Recipients Are Known Exclusively by This Internet Domain Name
If you select this box, this GroupWise domain accepts only e-mail addressed to the Internet domain name selected above, even if another valid Internet domain name is used. A valid Internet domain name is any domain name you've defined at the system level (Tools menu > GroupWise System Operations > Internet Addressing). For example, suppose that your system has two Internet domain names: novell.com and gw.novell.com. You select gw.novell.com as the Internet domain name for this GroupWise domain and turn on this option. Joe Smith, a user in this domain with a user ID of jsmith, would receive messages addressed to jsmith@gw.novell.com but not messages addressed to jsmith@novell.com, even though novell.com is a valid Internet domain name for your GroupWise system.
Internet Agent For Outbound SMTP/MIME Messages
This field displays the default Internet Agent that is responsible for sending
messages from this domain to the Internet. By default, the domain inherits its
Internet Agent setting from the system-level setting. To override the inherited
setting for this domain, select Override, then select the Internet Agent.
Alternate Internet Agent For Outbound SMTP/MIME Messages
This field displays the alternate Internet Agent responsible for sending messages
from this domain to the Internet if the primary Internet Agent is down. This
feature only applies if you have more than one Internet Agent in your GroupWise
system. To establish an alternate Internet Agent for this domain, select the
Internet Agent for a different domain to act as the alternate Internet Agent
for this domain.
