Use this property page to configure the Internet Addressing settings for this external GroupWise® domain or non-GroupWise domain. The Internet Addressing settings you establish for this domain apply to all external users and resources defined in the domain, unless you override the settings at the post office level, user level, or resource level.
Preferred Address Format
The preferred address format determines how e-mail addresses for this domain's
users and resources are displayed in your GroupWise Address Book.
If this is an external GroupWise domain (rather than a non-GroupWise domain) and you have used External System Synchronization (Tools menu > GroupWise System Operations > External System Synchronization) to exchange domain information between your system and the external domain, this field displays the address format that was assigned to the external domain in its GroupWise system.
If this is a non-GroupWise domain or an external GroupWise domain that has not been synchronized, the field is empty.
To override the currently-assigned address format, select Override, then select the address format you want used with this domain. If the Preferred Address Format field is left empty (not defined), addresses will be displayed in objectID.post_office.domain format in the GroupWise Address Book.
Internet Domain Name
The Internet domain name, along with the preferred address format, is used to
construct the e-mail addresses included in the GroupWise Address Book.
If this is an external GroupWise domain (rather than a non-GroupWise domain) and you have used External System Synchronization (Tools menu > GroupWise System Operations > External System Synchronization) to exchange domain information between your system and the external domain, this field displays the Internet domain name that was assigned to the external domain in its GroupWise system.
If this is a non-GroupWise domain or an external GroupWise domain that has not been synchronized, the field is empty.
To override the currently-assigned Internet domain name, select Override, then enter the Internet domain name you want used with this domain.
IMPORTANT: Entering an Internet domain name can affect the way your GroupWise system routes messages to recipients located in the external domain. By default, GroupWise uses the link established from your system to the external system to route messages to recipients in the domain. However, if you enter an Internet domain name that is unknown to your GroupWise system, the Internet Agent is automatically used to route messages whose addresses include the Internet domain name. An Internet domain name is unknown to your system unless it has been defined as an Internet domain name for your system (Tools menu > GroupWise System Operations > Internet Addressing) or has been added to your system through synchronization with an external GroupWise system (Tools menu > GroupWise System Operations > External System Synchronization).
