Account

An external entity is an object created in Novell® eDirectoryTM for the sole purpose of giving a non-eDirectory user an account on a GroupWise® post office. The external entity appears in the GroupWise Address Book for addressing purposes and in the eDirectory tree for GroupWise administrative purposes, but has no other function.

Use the Account page to configure the GroupWise account assigned to the user.

Post Office
Displays the post office the user is assigned to.

Mailbox ID
Displays the the Mailbox ID (GroupWise user ID) assigned to the user.

Visibility
Select the visibility level for this user.

External Sync Override
If your GroupWise system links to and synchronizes with another GroupWise system, select the external synchronization policy for this user.

Synchronize According to Visibility
The information is synchronized to external systems only if visibility is set to System.
Synchronize Regardless of Visibility
The information is synchronized to external systems regardless of the object visibility.
Don't Synchronize Regardless of Visibility
The information is not synchronized to external systems.

Account ID
If the user sends messages through a GroupWise gateway that supports accounting, provide a gateway account ID. For more information about gateway accounting, see your gateway documentation at the GroupWise Online Documentation site.

File ID
Displays the user's unique file ID (FID). The FID is used when generating names for files and directories associated with the user, such as the user's database, archive directory, and remote/caching directory.

Expiration Date
If this is a temporary GroupWise account, click Enable and specify the date when the GroupWise account should be deleted. This has no affect on the user's network account, as controlled on the Login Restrictions page.

Gateway Access
Use this field to restrict access to a GroupWise gateway. See your gateway documentation to determine if this field applies. Gateway documentation is available on the web at the GroupWise Online Documentation site.

Disable Logins
Select Disable Logins to prevent the user from accessing his or her GroupWise mailbox.

LDAP Authentication
If the LDAP server that provides the LDAP authentication for this user's post office is located in a different tree from this User object, provide the fully distinguished name of this user's User object in the other tree (that is, the tree where the LDAP Server object is located). Use the format expected by the LDAP server. For example, eDirectory uses the format cn=username,ou=orgunit,o=organization.

When you specify the user's fully distinguished name in this field, normal user lookup procedures are skipped. This can be useful for troubleshooting when LDAP authentication is not working for a specific user. It also speeds up user authentication time.

Restore Area
Displays the restore area, if any, that the user could access to restore deleted items from backup.

To set up a restore area, click Tools > GroupWise System Operations > Restore Area Management.

Change GroupWise Password
Click Change GroupWise Password to open the Security Options dialog box.
