An external entity is an object created in Novell® eDirectoryTM for the sole purpose of giving a non-eDirectory user an account on a GroupWise® post office. The external entity appears in the GroupWise Address Book for addressing purposes and in the eDirectory tree for GroupWise administrative purposes, but has no other function.
GroupWise Object ID
Specify the GroupWise user ID you want assigned to the user.
Last Name
Specify the last name of the user as you want it to appear in the GroupWise
Address Book.
GroupWise Post Office
This field is displayed only if you are creating the post office through the
Console View instead of the GroupWise View. Select the GroupWise post office
to which you want to add the user.
Container
This field is displayed only if you are creating the post office through
the GroupWise View instead of the Console View. Select the eDirectory container
in which you want to create the GroupWise External Entity object.
External Network ID
Specify the user's network ID.
Define Additional Properties
Additional properties may be
needed for this object to function in the GroupWise system. If you select
this option, you can define these properties immediately after you click
OK. If you don't click this box now, you can define additional properties
later by right-clicking the object and clicking Details.
Create Another External Entity
If you click this box and then click Create, the Create GroupWise External Entity
dialog box displays again. This saves you some steps when creating several external
entities at the same time. If you select this option, you might need to define
additional properties for the object later.
