An external resource belongs to an external post office. It does not physically exist in your GroupWise system. The main purpose for adding an external resource is to define it in your system's Address Book so that your users can more easily schedule it and find information (owner, owner's phone number, and so forth) about it.
Name
The name of the external resource is displayed for
your information.
Post Office
The domain and post office this resource belongs to are displayed.
Owner
Click to change the resource owner. The resource owner must already have a GroupWise®
account and must be on the same post office as the resource.
File ID
Displays the external resource's unique file ID (FID). The FID is used when
generating names for files and directories associated with the resource, such
as the resource's database.
Description
The description is to help you record
additional information about the resource.
Visibility
Select a visibility level to define what
address books the resource will appear in.
Resource Type
You can identify the resource as a general resource or as a place. When a user
schedules a resource that is defined as a place, the resource description is
automatically added to the Place field in the appointment. For example, suppose
you create a resource for a conference room. You assign CONF-K1A as the resource
ID and enter Building K, 1st floor, Room A as the description. If you specify
that the conference room is a place, when the user enters CONF-K1A in the To
field, Building K, 1st floor, Room A appears in the Place field.
Phone
Specify the phone number of the owner or contact person responsible for this
resource.
