A gateway is a program for transferring messages from your local GroupWise® system to another GroupWise system, or for converting and transferring messages to a non-GroupWise system.
Domain.Gateway
Displays the gateway's domain and name.
Description
Enter a description to help you identify why or when the gateway was created.
Subdirectory
Select the subdirectory where the gateway
software is installed.
Time Zone
The gateway should use the same time zone as
its domain. If you need to change the time zone, select one from the
drop-down list of time zone options.
Database Version
This field defines the GroupWise version for which the gateway was originally
developed. If you need to change the database version, select an alternative
from the drop-down list of database versions.
Platform
GroupWise gateways have been developed for the NetWare®, Windows*, DOS, OS/2*,
and UNIX* operating systems. Select the platform of the gateway you installed.
If your gateway platform is not listed, select Unknown as the platform.
Gateway Type
If this field does not already list the
gateway you created, select a gateway type from the list.
Gateway Alias Type
This field might or might not apply to your gateway. Refer to your GroupWise
gateway guide for details.
The gateway alias type helps associate gateway aliases (GroupWise tab > Gateway Aliases page) with the gateway. This ensures that when a message is sent to the user for which the gateway alias is defined, the message is routed to the correct gateway. If your gateway uses aliases, enter any word that you want to use as the gateway alias type. The gateway alias type is not visible to users.
Foreign ID
This field might or might not apply to your gateway. It is a keyword that identifies
your GroupWise gateway to messaging systems that have such requirements. If
your gateway requires it, enter a keyword as specified in the gateway documentation.
SNMP Community "Get" String
Enter the SNMP community string that the gateway should use for all SNMP GET
commands. The community name is case sensitive.
