A gateway is a program for transferring messages from your local GroupWise® system to another GroupWise system, or for converting and transferring messages to a third-party system.
Gateway/Internet Agent
If you are setting up the GroupWise
Internet Agent, select Internet Agent; otherwise, select Gateway for all
other GroupWise gateways and for GroupWise WebAccess.
Gateway Name
Enter a name for the gateway that identifies the gateway and that is unique
within the domain. This name and an accompanying GroupWise gateway icon appear
together as an object in the GroupWise View. Do not use any invalid
characters in the name.
Gateway Home Directory
If you have already installed the
gateway software in a domain, a gateway directory name should be listed.
Select the directory name where the gateway files are installed.
Language
Select a language. The rules for sorting lists
vary among languages. The field defaults to the language selected for the
domain; however, you can select the language whose sorting rules will be
used for the lists displayed in GroupWise, such as the Address Book.
Time Zone
Select a time zone. The gateway assumes the time zone of its domain; however,
you should select a different time zone if the gateway is installed on a server
in a different time zone.
Gateway Type
If this field does not already list the
gateway you are creating, select a gateway type from the list.
Version
This field defines the GroupWise version for
which your gateway was originally developed. If you need to change the
database version, select an alternative from the list of database
versions.
Platform
GroupWise gateways have been developed for the NetWare®,
Windows*, DOS, OS/2*, and UNIX* operating systems. Select the platform of the
gateway you installed. If your gateway platform is not listed, select Unknown
as the platform.
Define Additional Properties
Additional properties are
needed for an object to function in the GroupWise system. If you select
this option, you can define these properties immediately after you click
Create. If you don't click this box now, you can define additional
properties later by right-clicking the object and clicking Details.
Create Another Gateway
If you click this box and then click Create, the object's Create dialog box
displays again. This saves you some steps when creating several objects of the
same type. If you select this option, you need to define additional properties
for the object later.
