The properties on this page let you adjust how frequently the gateway performs tasks associated with its routine message processing functions. Some gateways require all of these properties, others do not. For more information, see your gateway documentation. Gateway documentation is available on the web at the GroupWise Online Documentation site.
Send/Receive Cycle
Enter the number of seconds you want to split between gateway cycles for sending
and receiving messages. For example, if you type a value of 100, the gateway
spends approximately 50 seconds sending messages and 50 seconds receiving messages.
The process is then repeated. If the time limit is reached and a message is
being processed, the gateway finishes the processing. The default is 120 seconds
(2 minutes).
Minimum Run
This value should normally be 0 (zero), unless you are typically charged a set
fee for a communications link to the foreign messaging system. For example,
if you are required to pay for the first 3 minutes, you should probably stay
connected for the full time (180 seconds) so that the gateway can send or receive
a new message during that interval without reconnecting.
Idle Sleep Duration
Enter a duration (in seconds) that you want the gateway to sleep when it has
no files to send, receive, or convert. When this duration expires, the gateway
wakes up briefly to check for messages. If there are no messages, it sleeps
again to save CPU cycles and to free the server for multitasking on operating
systems that support it. The default is 10 seconds.
Snap Shot Interval
Enter the interval for which you want the gateway to compile its performance
statistics. This field is a sliding interval that is used in the gateway's operation
screen. The display changes every 60 seconds to show only the previous x
seconds of activity. The default is 600 seconds (10 minutes).
