Post Offices: Audit Report

Performs an audit of the post office's mailboxes to see 1) which mailboxes require full client licenses and which mailboxes require limited client licenses, and 2) which mailboxes are active (have been accessed at least one time), which ones have never been active, and which ones have been inactive for a specified period of time.

A mailbox requires a full client license (and is marked as a full client license mailbox) if it has been accessed by any of the following:

A mailbox requires a limited client license only (and is marked as a limited client license mailbox) if access to it has been limited to the following:

GroupWise Objects
Displays the post office whose mailboxes will be audited. The post office must be running at least a GroupWise 6 POA in order for you to generate an audit report.

If the correct post office is not listed, click Close. Select the post office in the ConsoleOne® browser window, then click Tools > GroupWise Utilities > Mailbox/Library Maintenance.

Action: Audit Report
Select Audit Report.

Log Accounts without Activity for nn Days
Using the default setting (60 days), the Mailbox/Library Maintenance program flags all mailboxes that have not had any activity within the last 60 days. Select a different number to change the time period of the log you generate for the audit report. For example, you could generate a log report for the last 30 days. However, if you view the audit information using Tools > GroupWise Diagnostics > Information on a System, Domain, or Post Office object, the information is always listed for the 60-day default time period.

Tab Options
The Databases, Logging, Results, and Misc tabs let you specify database types and logging options.

Databases
The Mailbox/Library Maintenance program checks the user databases to create the audit report. Because you can't change this, all options on the Databases tab are dimmed.

Logging
Lets you save the audit report to a log file.

Log File
Enter a filename. By default, the file is created in the po\wpcsout\ofs directory, where po is the post office directory.
Verbose Logging
Produces maximum detail; however, this option creates very large log files and slows execution.

Results
Sends the results (as an attachment to a GroupWise message) to the user defined as the GroupWise domain administrator (Domain object > GroupWise tab > Identification page). Select Individual Users to send each user the results that pertain to his or her GroupWise user account. The CC area is a comma-delimited field used to list additional users to receive the report. The Message button lets you enter a message that you want included with the GroupWise e-mail message.

Misc
Support options are typically obtained from Novell® Support representatives when you need assistance resolving specific database problems. Some information about commonly used options is available in the Support Knowledgebase. Make sure that you clearly understand what the Support options do before you use them.

Run
Executes the GroupWise Mailbox/Library Maintenance options you have selected.

Retrieve
Use Retrieve to browse to and select an options file. The default file name is gwcheck.opt.

Save
Saves the currently selected options. By default, the options file is saved to the domain\wptools directory, where domain is the domain directory to which you are currently connected.

Viewing Audit Report Results at a Later Time
Any time after an audit report has been run for a post office, you can display the results in ConsoleOne. Select the Post Office object, then click Tools > GroupWise Diagnostics > Information. You can also select a Domain object instead of a Post Office object, to display cumulative information for all post offices in the selected domain.
