Merge Domain into System
The Merge Domain Advisor guides you through the process of merging a domain
from another GroupWise® system into the current GroupWise system.
When you merge a domain into the current GroupWise system, it is added to the
system as a secondary domain. It can then be administered just like any other
secondary domain in the current system.
To merge a domain into the current system:
- The domain must be defined as an external domain in the current
GroupWise system.
- The domain must be a primary domain in its own GroupWise system. In addition,
it must be the only domain in its system. If the domain's system includes
other domains, you must first release the domain so that it is in its own
system. To release the domain, connect to a domain in its GroupWise system
(Tools menu > GroupWise System Operations > Select Domain), right-click
the Domain object, click System Maintenance, select Release Secondary, click
Run, then follow the prompts. If the domain is the primary domain, you will
need to first convert another secondary domain to serve as the primary.
- You must have Write rights to every Novell® eDirectoryTM
object associated with the GroupWise domain you are merging.
- You must have file system rights to the domain's database.
