Use the Log Settings page to establish how the MTA manages its log files.
Log File Path
Browse to and select the directory where you want this MTA to store its log
files. The default is the mslocal directory as specified by the /work startup
switch.
You can also type the full path. For the NetWare® MTA, use a UNC path. For the Windows* MTA, use a mapped drive path or a UNC path. For the Linux* MTA, use a Linux path.
Logging Level
Select the amount of data displayed on the MTA agent console and written to
the MTA log file.
Off
Turns off disk logging and sets the logging level for this MTA to its default. Logging information is still displayed on the MTA agent console.
Normal (Default)
Displays only the essential information suitable for a smoothly running MTA.
Verbose
Displays the essential information, plus routing information and file names helpful for troubleshooting.
Max Log File Age
Specify the number of days you want MTA log files to remain on disk before being
automatically deleted. The default log file age is 30 days.
Max Log Disk Space
Specify the amount of disk space in kilobytes for all MTA log files. When the
specified disk space is full, the MTA overwrites existing MTA log files, starting
with the oldest one. The default is 102400 KB (100 MB) of disk space for all
MTA log files.
