Post Office Directory

You use ConsoleOne® and the GroupWise® Administrator snap-in to create, manage, and store all GroupWise objects and information in Novell® eDirectoryTM. However, the post office also requires a directory to hold the post office database and various subdirectories used in message processing.

Specify the path to the directory you want to use as the post office directory. On NetWare® and Windows*, the directory name can be up to eight characters long. On Linux*, long directory names can be used. On Linux, all characters in the directory name must be lowercase. On NetWare and Windows, uppercase and lowercase characters can be used, but the directory name is not case sensitive.

The directory you specify should be empty. If you browse for an existing directory that is not empty, append a directory name to the path after you have selected it. If the directory does not exist, the System Setup utility creates it.

Choose the directory name and path carefully. After it is created, it is difficult to rename. You may want to give the directory a name that is similar to the post office name. For example, if the post office name is Advertising, you could use advert as the directory name.
