Use the Network Address page to provide the IP address and TCP port information that enables the POA to communicate with other GroupWise® agents and gateways by way of TCP/IP.
TCP/IP Address
Click Edit to provide the IP address or the
DNS hostname of the server where the POA runs. For an IPV6 server, you must
specify the DNS hostname.
This information enables you to:
External IP Address
Click Edit to provide either the IP address
or the DNS hostname that GroupWise client users outside the firewall use to
access the external server with Internet access that redirects their requests
to this POA inside the firewall.
IPX/SPX Address
Click Edit to provide IPX/SPXTM
address information in order to configure this POA so that network management
and monitoring programs can use IPX/SPX to send SNMP requests to the POA.
Bind Exclusively to TCP/IP Address
Select this option to bind this POA to the specified IP address when the server
where it runs uses multiple IP addresses. The specified IP address is associated
with all ports used by the POA (message transfer, HTTP, IMAP, and so on). Without
an exclusive bind, the POA binds to all IP addresses available on the server
and users can access the post office through all available IP addresses.
Message Transfer
In the Port field, specify the port number on which this POA will listen for
messages from the MTA. The default is 7101. The port number must not be in use
by another program on the server.
In the SSL field, select Required if you want this POA to use a secure connection for communication with the MTA. The MTA must also be enabled to use SSL.
HTTP
In the Port field, specify the port number on which this POA will listen for
requests for status information from the POA Web console. The default is 7181.
The port number must not be in use by another program on the server.
In the SSL field, select Required if you want this POA to use a secure connection for the POA Web console. The Web browser must also be enabled to use SSL.
Internal Client/Server
An internal client/server connection between the POA and the GroupWise client
is one where the GroupWise client is running on your local network and inside
your firewall, if one is being used.
In the Port field, specify the port number on which this POA will listen for requests from the GroupWise client. The default is 1677. The port number must not be in use by another program on the server.
In the SSL field, select from the following options to configure this POA's use of secure connections to local GroupWise clients.
External Client/Server
An external client/server connection between the POA and the GroupWise client
is one where the GroupWise client is running outside your firewall and connecting
to the GroupWise system across the Internet. This configuration requires that
you specify an external server in the External IP Address field above.
The network router is responsible for enabling the Network Address Translation (NAT) or Port Address Translation (PAT) between the external client requests and the internal network address of the POA. The external server address and port should be listed as they would be seen from the GroupWise clients. The POA provides this address and port to clients that attempt to connect from outside the firewall.
If you are using NAT, provide an external server IP address for the POA, and
in the Port field, use port 1677 (the default) for the external client/server
port . If you are using PAT, provide an external server IP address for the POA,
and in the Port field, use a unique external client/server port.
In the SSL field, select from the following options to configure this POA's use of secure connections to GroupWise clients through the external server.
IMAP
In the Port field, specify the port number on which this POA will listen for
requests from Internet Message Application Protocol (IMAP) clients that are
not using secure SSL connections. The default is 143. The port number must not
be in use by another program on the server.
In the SSL field, select from the following options to configure this POA's use of secure connections to IMAP clients.
In the SSL Port field, specify the port number on which this POA will listen for requests from IMAP clients that are using secure SSL connections. The default is 993. The port number must not be in use by another program on the server.
Internal SOAP
In the Port field, specify the port number on which this POA will listen for
requests from internal SOAP clients. The default is 7191. The port number must
not be in use by another program on the server.
In the SSL field, select Required if you want this POA to use a secure connection to SOAP clients. The SOAP client must also be enabled to use SSL in order to connect.
External SOAP
In the Port field, specify the port number on which this POA will listen for
requests from SOAP clients that are outside the firewall. The default is 7191.
The port number must not be in use by another program on the server.
The external SOAP port uses the same SSL setting as the internal SOAP port.
Calendar Publishing
In the Port field, specify the port number on which this POA will listen for
requests from the Publishing Host. The default is 7171. The port number must
not be in use by another program on the server.
