Use the QuickFinder page to configure QuickFinderTM, a Novell® indexing/searching technology used by the POA to index messages and documents.
Enable QuickFinder Indexing
Select this option to enable QuickFinder. Deselect this option to turn off indexing
for this POA.
Start QuickFinder Indexing
Specify the number of hours and minutes after midnight for this POA to start
its indexing cycle. The default is 20, meaning at 8:00 p.m.
QuickFinder Interval
Specify in hours and minutes the time interval between POA QuickFinder
indexing cycles. The default is 24 hours. If you set the value to 0 (zero),
QuickFinder indexes continuously.
If your organization uses GroupWise Document Management Services (DMS) to create and manage relatively few documents, the default setting might be adequate. However, if up-to-the-minute searches are necessary or if a large number of documents are created and managed, you might want to decrease the indexing interval or create an additional POA dedicated to indexing.
Quarantine Files That Fail During Conversion
The Document Converter Agent converts attachments into HTML format so that the
POA QuickFinder process can index them. By default, if an attachment fails the
conversion process, it is deleted at the end of the QuickFinder cycle and is
not indexed.
Select this option if you want to retain files that cannot be indexed. Retained
files are moved to the \post_office\oftemp\gwdca\problem directory. You
can contact Novell Support for assistance with attachments that fail the HTML
conversion process and cannot be indexed.
