Scheduled Event Action

Use the Scheduled Event Action dialog box to create or modify maintenance actions that can be included into POA scheduled events.

Name
If you are creating a new maintenance action, provide a descriptive name (as many as 128 characters in length) for the action you want to include in a POA scheduled event. If you are editing an existing maintenance action, you can rename it if needed.

Action
Select the maintenance action to include in this POA scheduled event. You can customize the action by selecting options for it.

Action: Analyze/Fix Databases
Select Analyze/Fix Databases to check user and message databases for invalid structure and information. Select the following options as needed:
Action: Expire/Reduce Messages
Select Expire/Reduce Messages to eliminate expired messages and reclaim any free space in message databases. Select one of the following options:
Action: Mailbox Statistics
Select Mailbox Statistics to collect statistics about this post office, such as:
Archive/Delete Documents
Select Archive/Delete Documents to remove documents from this post office's libraries according to their document life properties.
Delete Activity Logs
Select Delete Activity Logs to delete document activity logs that are older than a specified number of days.
Analyze/Fix Library
Select Analyze/Fix Library to analyze this post office's library database for invalid structure and information and to correct problems. Select the following options as needed:

Audit Report
Select Audit Report to identify GroupWise® user accounts that have not been accessed recently.

Option Tabs
To further customize each maintenance action, click an option tab at the bottom of the Scheduled Event Action dialog box and choose other defining properties. The tabs and their contents vary with each action.

Databases
Select the type of databases to perform the action on.

Logging
Specify a log file name and the desired level of logging (Normal or Verbose).

Results
Specify to whom to send the results and, optionally, provide an explanatory message to accompany the results.

Misc
Specify any options provided by Novell® Support.

Exclude
Specify individual users whose databases should be excluded from this action.

Notification
Select if you want the GroupWise administrator to be notified when the action begins or ends, or if the action fails.
