The Release Domain Advisor guides you through the process of releasing a secondary domain from the current GroupWise® system. The released domain becomes a primary domain in its own GroupWise system. In the current system, the released domain is converted from a secondary domain to an external domain and the system's links to the released domain are retained so that the two systems are connected.
You can release only secondary domains. If you want to release the primary domain, you must first designate a new primary domain, which causes the existing primary domain to become a secondary domain. To do so:
The released domain can remain as a separate GroupWise system, or you can use the Merge External Domain option (in the System Maintenance dialog box) to merge the domain into another GroupWise system.
