Addressing rules enable users to enter a shortened form of an e-mail address.
GroupWise® allows the creation of Internet domain names. If you have set up Internet domains in your system, any rules including an @ in the search string and a colon ( : ) in the replacement string are ignored.

Enter a string that describes the addressing
rule.
Name
Enter a name for the addressing rule.
Search String
Enter a search string consisting of one or
more wildcard characters in context using correct addressing syntax.
Replace With
The replacement string replaces the wildcard characters and add any additional
addressing information you specify.
Wildcard Characters
- * zero or more characters
- ? any single character
- Any consecutive * and ? characters are considered to be a group.
- %n specifies the (n)th group to be inserted in the replacement string.
- The wildcards are referenced in the order they are entered. That is, %1 replaces the first asterisk (*), and %2 replaces the second asterisk. You can change the order in the replacement string.
