Publish to eDirectory

The GroupWise® databases and eDirectoryTM both contain information about users' e-mail address formats. When you change settings for users' GroupWise e-mail addresses, you can publish the changes to eDirectory so that user e-mail address information matches in both places.

When you publish e-mail addresses to eDirectory, you can list each user's available e-mail addresses (User object > Properties > General > Identification > E-Mail Address field).

Publish the Preferred E-Mail Address Only
Select this option to publish users' e-mail addresses to eDirectory only in the format established in the Preferred Address Format field on the Addressing Formats tab. This publishes one e-mail address per user in the format established for your GroupWise system.

Publish All Allowed Addresses
Select this option to publish users' e-mail addresses to eDirectory in any formats selected in the Allowed Address Formats box on the Address Formats tab for each Internet domain. This publishes one or more e-mail addresses per user in the formats allowed for each Internet domain.

Publish the Following Addresses
Select this option to specify which e-mail addresses and formats to publish to eDirectory. The available formats default to the list selected on the Address Formats tab for each Internet domain. This publishes one or more e-mail addresses per user in the formats selected in this dialog box.

Publish Nickname Addresses
Select this option to publish any e-mail addresses to eDirectory in the selected formats that include nicknames. Nicknames are established on User objects and enable the nickname to function in the user's e-mail address as if it were the username.

Publish Gateway Alias Addresses
Select this option to publish any e-mail addresses to eDirectory in the selected formats that include gateway aliases. Gateway aliases are established on User objects and handle address format differences between GroupWise addresses and external e-mail system addresses.
