A software distribution directory contains the administration and agent files you need to set up and maintain your GroupWise system. The directory also contains the GroupWise® client software.
Software Distribution Directories
The Software Distribution Directories list displays the software distribution
directories associated with your GroupWise system.
Description
Select a software distribution directory to
display any information entered in the Description field when the
directory was created. To modify or add a description, click Edit.
Create
Click Create to create a software distribution directory. You can create as
many software distribution directories as you need. For example, you might need
to create multiple software distribution directories on different network servers
so that all users can access the GroupWise client.
Edit
Select a software distribution directory, then click Edit to modify the name,
description, or directory path. The path must specify the location where the
GroupWise software files reside. Changing the path does not move the software
files to the new location.
Delete
Select a software distribution directory, then click Delete to delete the directory.
The directory is removed from the file system and no longer appears in the list
of software distribution directories. Any post office that was assigned to that
software distribution directory defaults to the first directory in the list.
Update
Select a software distribution directory, then click Update to update the software
in the directory. You can update software whenever you receive a new version
of GroupWise or a patch to your current version. To update a software distribution
directory to a new version, you must have already installed the new version
from the GroupWise DVD to one of your software distribution directories.
