User Move Status

The User Move Status utility helps you track progress as you move users and resources from one post office to another. It displays the user moves associated with the object you selected before displaying the User Move Status dialog box. For example, if you selected a Domain object, all user moves for the selected domain are displayed, but not user moves for other domains.

While a GroupWise® user account is being moved, the POA in the source post office and the POA in the destination post office communicate back and forth. The move process progresses through various steps and statuses, which include:

If communication between the source POA and the destination POA is interrupted, the source POA automatically retries sending items every 12 hours until all items have been successfully retrieved or until seven days have passed, whichever comes first.

User List
Users and resources that are in the process of being moved are listed, along with the domain and post office they are being moved to, their current status, and any errors that have occurred during the move.

Filter
To reduce the length of the user list, type text in a Filter field above the list, then press Enter to restrict the list to entries that match the text you typed. For example, if all user moves in the domain are currently listed and you only want to see those for a particular post office, type the post office name in the Filter field above the Post Office column heading. You can use standard wildcard characters in the Filter fields.

Info
Select an account, then click Info to display detailed information about the account being moved, including its original location and the last time move activity occurred for the account.

Pending Items
Select an account, then click Pending Items to display detailed information about items belonging to that account that have not yet been moved to the destination post office, perhaps because problems were encountered when trying to move them. This information can help determine the importance of moving residual items that are still pending after all other items have been successfully moved.

Retry/Restart
Select an account, then click Retry/Restart to display options for handling a user move that has stopped progressing for some reason.

Force Complete
Select an account, then click Force Complete to stop the user move process, stop the source POA from retrying to send items, and set the user account status to Move Completed. Use this option if the source POA is still retrying to send items that have not yet moved successfully, but the user is satisfied with the current mailbox contents. This situation can typically be avoided by running Mailbox/Library Maintenance on the mailbox before moving the user account.

Clear Status
Select an account, then click Clear Status to remove the account from the list, regardless of its current status. When the status changes, the account reappears in the list.

Clear All Complete
Click Clear All Complete to remove all accounts from the list for which the Last Move Status column displays Move Complete.

Refresh
Click Refresh to update the user move status information. The list does not refresh automatically.
