Using the Security Options: Password dialog box, you can change or clear a user's password and enable user password options. The GroupWise® password is independent of the network login password, unless you set up LDAP authentication. For more information, see Security.
Enter New Password
If a user forgets his or her GroupWise
password, you can provide the user with a new password to access
GroupWise. You should advise the user to change the new password to a
personal one.
Retype Password
If you retype the password correctly, it is set; otherwise, you must reenter
the password in both fields.
Clear User's Password
If a user forgets his or her personal password, select this box to clear the
password. The user can then enter a new password at his or her discretion. In
a high security post office, it might be necessary to set a new password after
clearing the old one.
Allow Password Caching
Lets users select the Remember My Password option under Security options in
the GroupWise Windows client. When this option is selected in the client, the
user can restart GroupWise without reentering the password. The password is
stored in the Windows* password list on the current computer.
Use eDirectory Authentication Instead of Password
Select this option to turn on the No Password Required with eDirectory option
under Security options in the GroupWise client. When this option is selected
in the client, users can access their mailbox without a password if they are
already logged in to Novell® eDirectoryTM.
Mailbox access is granted based on eDirectory authentication, not on password
information. If this setting is locked, the users cannot change the setting
in the client.
In versions of GroupWise prior to the GroupWise 5.5 Enhancement Pack, this option was called Allow NDS Single Sign-on. The option name has been changed to avoid confusion with the separate Novell Single Sign-on product.
Enable Single Sign-On
Lets the user select the Use Single Sign-On option under Security Options in
the GroupWise client. When this option is selected in the client, the user can
access his or her mailbox without reentering the password. The GroupWise password
is stored in eDirectory for the currently logged-in user.
Novell SecureLogin must be installed on the user workstation in order for this option to take effect.
Use Collaboration Single Sign-On (CASA)
Select this option to turn on the Use Collaboration Single Sign-On (CASA) option
in the GroupWise client. Collaboration Single Sign-On lets user of all Novell
collaboration products (GroupWise, Messenger, iFolder, and iPrint) to use the
same password for all collaboration products. CASA lets the user access his
or her mailbox without reentering the password.
Restore Default Settings
Click to return to the default settings and clear any options you have changed.
(This option is not available if you accessed this page by double-clicking the
user object, clicking the GroupWise Account page, then clicking Change GroupWise
Password.)
