Use this page to configure GroupWise® user access to SMTP, LDAP, IMAP4, and POP3 features of the GroupWise Internet Agent.
Class of Service
This list displays all classes of service
that have been created to control user access. Each class of service is
comprised of specific SMTP, LDAP, IMAP4, and POP3 service levels that are
assigned to a membership list. A GroupWise user's access is based on his
or her membership in a class of service. All users are members of the
default class of service.
Create
Click Create to create a new class of service. You can create any number of classes of service.Edit
To edit a class of service, select the class, then click Edit.Delete
To delete a class of service, select the class, then click Edit. After you delete the class, member access is determined by the default class of service or another class in which individuals have membership.
Memberships
The Memberships list displays all members of
the class of service that is currently selected in the Class of Service
list. You can add users, groups of users, post offices, or domains to a
Membership list for each of the classes of service you create.
Because you can assign membership at a domain, post office, distribution list, or user level, you could make a user a member of more than one class. For example, a user might inherit membership in one class because his or her post office is a member; at the same time, the user is a member in another class because he or she was added as a user to that class. Because only one class of service can be applied to a user at one time, membership conflicts are resolved hierarchically, as shown below:
| Membership... | Overrides.. |
|---|---|
| as a user | default class of service membership domain membership post office membership |
| through a distribution list | default class of service membership domain membership post office membership |
| through a post office | default class of service membership domain membership |
| through a domain | default class of service membership |
If a user's membership in two classes of service is based upon the same level of membership (for example, both through individual user membership), the class that applies is the one that allows the most privileges.
Add
To add a new member (domain, post office, distribution list, or user) to a class of service, select the class of service in the Class of Service list, then click Add. By default, all users are members of the default class of service, so you can't add members to that class.Remove
To remove a member (domain, post office, distribution list, or user) from a class of service, select the class of service in the Class of Service list, select the member in the Memberships list, then click Remove. You cannot remove a member from the default class of service.
Test
You can use the Test button to verify what class of service, along with its
corresponding access setting, is being applied to a domain, post office, distribution
list, or user. To test an object, click the Test button, use the Select Object
dialog box to select the objects whose access settings you want to verify, then
click View Access.
