The information on this page is applied to the iChain* community services property file and is not stored in the directory. The iChain properties file is read in when iChain community services is started using a servlet gateway. This properties file allows community services to log in to this server. The properties file needs an iChain community services administrator who will have full creation rights to the community portion of the tree.
iChain Properties File
The default location of the iChain community PROPERTIES file on an NT Server is
C:\NOVELL\ICHAIN\SERVLETS\ICHAIN\PROPERTIES. The default location of the iChain community
properties file on a NetWare* platform is
\\SERVERNAME\SYS\ICHAIN\SERVLETS\ICHAIN\PROPERTIES. You must specify the path on any other
platform or if your PROPERTIES file is not in the default directory.
Server Distinguished Name
The distinguished name of this server. An example is myServer.novell.myTree.
iChain Installation Directory
The directory where the iChain HTML files and servlets have been installed. The default on
an NT Server** is C:\NOVELL\ICHAIN. The default on an NT Server is SYS:/ICHAIN.
Registration Custom Class
The registration custom class values are used in HTML pages to call specific Java**
modules. The default name of NewUserProcess is used to register new users to a
community.
Admin Distinguished Name
The distinguished name of the community services administrator. The password for this
administrator will be base-64 encoded in the properties file and thus, is not secure. We
highly recommend that the community services administrator only have rights to administer
the community portion of the tree. An example is communityAdmin.novell.
Modify Admin Password
If the community services administrator's password changes, you must modify the password
again on this page. The new password will be base-64 encoded in the ICHAIN.PROPERTIES
file. If the password is not changed in the ICHAIN.PROPERTIES file, community services
will not be able to function.
