Adding a RADIUS Accounting Proxy Domain
Overview
Using ConsoleOne*, you can add new domain or modify an existing domain to forward RADIUS proxy accounting requests to a remote RADIUS accounting server.
To Add a RADIUS Accounting Proxy Domain
- Select a Dial Access System object that you already created.
- Select Domains.
- If you have not already done so, add an authentication domain of the desired domain type.
- Select Modify.
- In the Forwarding dialog, select the Accounting tab.
- If you want to store accounting information on the local RADIUS server, select Log at Proxy Server.
- If you want to forward accounting information to same RADIUS server used for authentication for this domain, select Forward to Domain.
- If you want to forward accounting information to a RADIUS server other than the one used for authentication for this domain, select Use Alternate Address/Secret and enter the following information:
- IP address and TCP port number of the primary RADIUS proxy accounting server in Primary Address
- (Optional) IP address and TCP port number of a secondary RADIUS proxy accounting server in Secondary Address
- The RADIUS secret (entered twice)
The secret should be a random string of 20 to 30 alphanumeric characters. The secret protects authentication information sent across the network.
- Enter a value in Retry Limit for the period (in hours) that accounting packets should be resent (default: 24).
- Click OK twice.
