This dialog box lets you select the location for the virtual CD. This location can be a directory on removable media such as a Jaz* disk, or it can be a directory on a local or network drive from which you can then create a physical CD.
Select Directory
To select the virtual CD directory, click the Browse button, browse to and select
the appropriate directory, then click OK. You should make sure to select an
empty directory. If necessary, you can create a new directory while browsing.
You can also specify the path to the directory. If you specify a path to a network directory, you must use a mapped drive and not a UNC path. UNC paths are not supported.
When CD Is Removed, Disassociation Will Occur After
By default, after Novell® Application LauncherTM
distributes the application from the CD (or removable media) to the user's workstation,
the user can continue using the application indefinitely. Select this option
to restrict the length of time the user can run the application. The time is
measured from when the CD (or removable media) is removed from the user's workstation.
The default time is 30 days. The valid range is 0 to 65535 days. Entering 0
will instruct Application Launcher to disassociate the application the first
time an Application Launcher refresh occurs after the CD (or removable media)
is removed.
Create CD Autorun Files
Select this option to create an autorun file (autorun.exe). The autorun file
causes Application Launcher to display the applications when the user inserts
the CD into the CD drive. Otherwise, the applications are not displayed until
the user refreshes Application Launcher or Application Launcher refreshes automatically.
In ZENworks 7 Desktop Management, the method that the autorun.exe file uses to trigger an Application Launcher refresh changed from previous ZENworks versions. As a result, the ZENworks 7 Application Launcher does not automatically refresh for virtual CDs created with previous ZENworks versions. Likewise, pre-ZENworks 6.5 versions of Application Launcher do not automatically refresh for ZENworks 6.5 or ZENworks 7 virtual CDs. Although automatic refresh does not work, users can insert the CD and then manually refresh Application Launcher to have it read the CD.
