New Application Object - Creation Options

This dialog box lets you select how you want to create the Application object.

A Simple Application (No .AOT/.AXT/ .MSI File)
Select this option if you have not used snAppShotTM to create a .aot or .axt file for the application, or if the application does not have a .msi file. This option is useful for simple applications whose installation does not require many (or any) files to be installed or workstation settings (.ini, registry, etc.) to be configured.

An Application That Has an .AOT/.AXT File
Select this option if you want the Application object to use a snAppShot installation package (.aot or .axt) file that has been created for the application. For more information about snAppShot, see the snAppShot Help. SnAppShot (snapshot.exe) is installed to the sys:\public\snapshot directory on the ZENworks® Desktop Management server.

An Application That Has an .MSI File
Select this option if you want the Application object to use a Microsoft* Windows* Installer installation package (.msi) file that has been created for the application.

An Application by Using an Existing Application Object
Select this option if you want to use another Application object as the basis for the new Application object. You will be given the opportunity to provide a new Application object name, the location to install source files from (source path), and the location to install files to (target path).

A Web Application
Select this option if you want to create an Application object for a Web application. You will be asked to provide the URL for the Web application.

A Terminal Server Application
Select this option if you want to create an Application object for an application accessed through a terminal server. You will be asked to provide the terminal server's address (IP address or host name) and the type of terminal server client session (RDP or ICA) that will be used.
