Displays the available handheld policies for the selected platform. Policies contained in the ZENworks® Handheld Management Handheld Package apply only to the associated Novell® eDirectoryTM Handheld and Handheld Group objects.
Platforms
Clicking the down-arrow on the Policies tab displays the individual platform
pages. Select a specific platform to configure and enable policies for that
platform. The available platforms include:
Policies
Lists the available policies for each platform page, indicates whether a policy
is enabled, and displays its schedule status.
The Enabled column indicates whether a policy is enabled. To enable or disable the policy, click the appropriate check box in this column.
The Policy column lists available policies for the selected platform.
The Schedule column indicates the schedule status of the policy.
To select a policy without enabling or disabling it, click the policy name.
Policy Name Functionality Palm Access Point Configuration Policy Lets you define the order of the Access Points to which the handheld device must be connected to. Palm Client Configuration (Handheld Package) Policy Lets you enable user authentication on associated Palm OS devices Palm Configuration Policy Lets you set general preferences, such as auto-off, system sound, and beam retrieve settings; associate different software programs with the buttons on the Palm OS device; assign a feature users can access when they drag the pen from the writing area to the top of the screen on the Palm OS device; and specify which software programs are allowed or not allowed on Palm OS devices. Palm Security Policy Lets you ensure that a password is set on the associated Palm OS device and lets you configure Auto Lock Configuration and enhanced password protection. Auto Lock Configuration is only available for Palm OS devices running Palm OS 4.x or newer.
Also lets you specify self-destruct settings to disable a Palm device after a specified number of failed password attempts or after a specified number of days since the device was last synchronized.Palm File Retrieval Policy Lets you specify source files you want to retrieve from associated Palm OS devices and then copy to a specified destination location. This is a plural policy, meaning it can be added many times to the policy package. This policy must be added using the Add button.
Policy Functionality WinCE Access Point Configuration Policy Lets you define the order of the Access Points to which the handheld device must connect to. WinCE Client Configuration (Handheld Package) Policy Lets you enable user authentication on associated Windows CE devices. WinCE Configuration Policy Lets you associate different software programs or functions with the buttons on the Windows CE device; specify which programs you want to include on the Start menu (on a Pocket PC) or on the desktop (on a handheld PC); and specify power settings for Windows CE devices. WinCE Remote Management Policy Allows an administrator or a user to remotely control the Windows CE devices. WinCE File Retrieval Policy Lets you specify source files you want to retrieve from associated Windows CE devices and then copy to a specified destination location. This is a plural policy, meaning it can be added many times to the policy package. This policy must be added using the Add button. WinCE Security Policy Lets you ensure that a password is set on each associated Windows CE device. Also lets you set advanced password options for Pocket PCs. For Pocket PCs, ZENworks Handheld Management can replace the Windows CE password applet; users will see ZENworks Handheld Management password dialog boxes rather than the default Windows CE dialog boxes.

Policy Functionality BlackBerry Configuration Policy Lets you set configuration information for associated BlackBerry devices, including the owner name for the device and any additional information you want to include BlackBerry Inventory Policy Lets you enable the collection of hardware and software inventory from associated BlackBerry devices. BlackBerry Security Policy Lets you ensure that a password is set on associated BlackBerry devices.
Properties
Displays the properties of the selected and enabled policy.
Reset
Resets the selected policy to its default values.
Add
Opens the Add Policy dialog box. This option does not appear on the BlackBerry
page. The Palm File Retrieval and the WinCE File Retrieval policies are plural
policies, meaning they can be added many times to a policy package. These policies
must be added using the Add button; they are not listed in the Policy column
until you create them.
When you add this policy, name it uniquely because this is a plural policy that can be added more than once to a policy package.
Remove
Removes the selected policy from the list. You can remove only plural policies
(Palm File Retrieval and WinCE File Retrieval).
Default Package Schedule
Displays which default package
schedule is in effect.
Edit
Allows you to edit the displayed package schedule.
