Search Level

Use this page to establish the search level for the ZENworks^® Handheld Management Application Search policy. The search level determines how much of the Novell^® eDirectory^TM tree will be searched by ZENworks Handheld Management when locating policy packages associated with a handheld device object.

Search for Applications Up To
Select from the following options:

• [Root] (Default): Search from the object to the root of the tree.
• Object Container: Search to the parent container of the handheld device object.
• Partition: Search from the object to the partition. If you are using ZENworks for Desktops 4 or newer, Partition has been replaced with Associated Container. If you select Associated Container, ZENworks Handheld Management will search to the partition boundary.
• Selected Container: Search from the object to the selected container. You use the Selected Container field (described below) to specify the container.

If you chose Selected Container in the Search For Applications Up To field, click the Browse button, then select the desired container.

Search Level
In addition to the absolute level you establish in the Search for Applications Up To field, you can use a search level increment to establish a relative level. For example:

0 = Limits the search to the level established in the Search for Applications Up To field. This is the default.

1 through 25 = Limits the search to a level above the level established in the Search for Applications Up To field. For example, if you select Object Container in the Search for Applications Up To field, +3 would limit the search to three levels above the object's container.

-1 through -25 = Limits the search to a level below the the level established in the Search for Applications Up To field. For example, if you select [Root] in the Search for Applications Up To field, -1 would allow searching up to one level below [Root].
