Report Wizard - Label Tab

The Label tab allows you to create labels.  To access this tab, select the Label icon under New tab in the Choose Report window.  The following window is shown:



Complete the information required in the Data and Query tabs.

What you see in the Label Description menu are some predefined templates which are provided by JReport for your convenience, it has pre-defined formats for labels.   These formats can be edited by clicking Edit.  You may also click the Custom button to create your own format for a label report,

• Custom and Edit Menu:  The following window allows you to customize and create your own labels.
  
  
  
  You may change any of the properties seen in this menu.  The unit depends on what unit was selected under the Unit of Measure section in the Size tab.  Use the bottom picture as a guide to decide what you want to change. 

• Unit of Measure: Explained above.
• Form Type: For printing.
• Orientation: Set the layout direction of the labels in one page.

Compose Tab

The Compose Tab allows you to add and place text and fields in the Label Prototype box.



You may select which fields you want to add by highlighting a field and clicking on the > button.  You can also place text in your label as well.  Highlighting the field and text allows you to view its properties by clicking the Format button.  The following properties are given:

• Document Format
  
      -Default Tab: Number of spaces of each tab.
      -Left, Right, Top and Bottom Margin: Adjusts the margins in the form box.
      -Text Vertical Alignment: Places fields and text on either the top, center, or bottom.

• Paragraph Format
  
     -Para Alignment: Left, center, or right justification.
     -Left and Right Indent: Indents text and fields.

• Character Format:
  
      -Bold: Bolds fields and text.
      -All Capitals: Puts letters in capital format.
      -Font: Changes font style.
      -Font Size: Changes font size.
      -Italic: Italicizes font.
      -Strikeout: Adds a line through the middle of text or field.
      -Underline: Underlines text or field.
      -Foreground Color: Changes the color of font.
      -Background Color: Changes the background of the form box.
